Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Placeholder notice. This is placeholder legal text for The Last Slide and must be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before launch. It is provided for convenience and does not constitute legal advice.

What you are buying

The paid online reader is a digital product: a one-time payment of £9.99 for lifetime, browser-only reading access to The Last Slide. There is no physical item, no download, and no file to deliver. Access is granted to your browser immediately after a successful payment, which means the content is made available to you straight away rather than shipped at a later date.

Your 14-day cooling-off right (UK & EU)

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you normally have a statutory right to cancel a purchase of digital content within 14 days, without giving a reason (the “cooling-off period”), under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

However, this right has an important exception for digital content that is supplied immediately. By purchasing and then accessing or beginning to read the online reader within the 14-day period, you:

  • expressly request that we begin supplying the digital content immediately, and
  • acknowledge that you therefore lose your statutory right to cancel once that supply has begun.

In plain terms: if you have not yet opened or read any of the paid content, you can still cancel within 14 days and receive a full refund. Once you have started reading, the content is treated as consumed and the cooling-off right no longer applies. This is a lawful and standard practice for digital goods, and it is the basis on which the £9.99 price is offered.

When we will refund you

We will provide a refund where any of the following apply:

  • You request cancellation within 14 days of purchase and have not yet accessed the paid reading content.
  • You were charged in error, charged more than once, or charged a duplicate amount for the same access.
  • Access could not be granted to you, or the reader was not accessible due to a fault on our side that we were unable to resolve within a reasonable time.
  • Any other circumstance where a refund is required by applicable consumer law in your jurisdiction.

Exceptions — when a refund may not be available

Because this is digital content supplied immediately, we may decline a refund where:

  • You have already accessed, opened, or read the paid content (your cooling-off right has been waived as described above).
  • The request is made well outside the 14-day window and none of the situations above apply.
  • You no longer wish to keep access simply because you have finished reading, or you changed your mind after consuming the content.
  • We reasonably determine the request is fraudulent or abusive (for example, repeated buy-and-refund activity).

Nothing in this policy removes or limits any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the law of your country. Where local law gives you stronger protection, that law prevails.

How to request a refund or cancel

Email thelastslide@outlook.com with the subject line “Refund request”. To help us process it quickly, please include:

  • the email address used at checkout;
  • the date of purchase and the amount paid (£9.99);
  • your payment reference or receipt from Dodo Payments, if you have it; and
  • a brief reason for the request (optional, but helpful).

Timelines

  • We aim to acknowledge your request within 2 business days.
  • Where a refund is approved, we will initiate it within 5 business days of approval.
  • The funds typically appear back on your original payment method within 5–10 business days after the refund is initiated, depending on your bank or card issuer.

Who processes the refund

Payments for the online reader are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as our Merchant of Record. This means Dodo Payments is the seller of record for the transaction and processes the actual refund back to your card or payment method. We never see or store your full card number. When a refund is approved, we instruct Dodo Payments to issue it; the exact timing of the credit to your account is then governed by Dodo Payments and your bank.

Refunds are always returned to the original payment method used at checkout. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card, account, or person.

After a refund

If your purchase is refunded, your lifetime reading access will be revoked. You will no longer be able to open the paid reader, and any access stored in your browser will cease to work.

Chargebacks

Please contact us before raising a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank — most issues can be resolved faster by email. Where a chargeback is raised, related reading access may be suspended while the dispute is handled by Dodo Payments. This does not affect any non-waivable consumer right you have to dispute a charge.

Governing law

The Service is operated from India by Manish Katariya, and Indian law governs this policy and your purchase, subject to the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your own country or state where those apply (see above). This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Questions or complaints
